| Description: This position will be responsible for providing application system administration support for Progress Energy’s enterprise reporting (Business Objects XiR2) infrastructure. The position will work under the oversight of a senior systems administrator to assist with supporting one or more BO reporting infrastructures in support of application development and future infrastructure migration activities. Additionally, the position will work with application developers within the Business Intelligence (BI) competency center and with the server administrator to ensure the enterprise infrastructure is configured to enterprise application standards (e.g., security, file structures, and other application and architectural standards) and operates at high availability. |

| Qualifications: Position requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 - 7 years like-work experience. Four years of like-work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree, or combination of education and like-work experience totaling 9+ years. •4 year computer science degree or equivalent technical degree •2 – 3 years of application system administration experience •Knowledge of the software development life cycle •General knowledge of application change management/release management practices •General application development experience Preferred Experience •Prior experience serving as a BO application system administrator •Experience with Microsoft NT, Unix and/or Linux Operating System •Prior experience developing Business Objects reports (Webi or Deski) and/or data warehouses Position Attributes: •Strong attention to following enterprise standards and to system administration detail •Good documentation and communication skills •Methodical approach to work execution, work ticket administration and follow up •Works equally effectively independently or in team settings |
