Madison Capital Management, LLC, an alternative investment management firm that specializes in niche real estate, distressed, natural resource, and special situations investments, currently seeks an Oil & Gas Project Manager to join its team. Founded in 1996, Madison maintains offices in Denver (CO), New York (NY), Kansas City (KS) and, through Madison (Europe), Luxembourg. As of February 2009, Madison and its affiliates had invested approximately $1 billion in capital.
Madison’s energy and natural resources portfolio currently consists of three substantial oil and gas investments located in Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky and Southern Colorado. In general, the investments have similar characteristics in that each requires operational and infrastructure improvements: well drilling and work-over strategy and execution, new lease acquisition, infrastructure, regulatory/safety management, and aggressive management in order to maximize value and capitalize on the upside potential of the investments. Madison has local onsite teams and field managers in place. Additionally, Madison has engaged an experienced industry consulting firm that recommends/implements well work over and drilling strategies, manages the day to day operations and manages the functions of interpreting and analyzing production & geological data. The Project Manager will set directives with these teams.
Madison is seeking a Project Manager to act as the owner’s representative to drive projects and activity to maximize the value of Madison’s energy and natural resource investments. The Project Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining project plans, establishing project goals, defining and delegating action items, and driving projects & team members to achieve the stated goals. Additionally, the Project Manager will establish and maintain tracking metrics and provide formal reports to executive management on the status of projects, goals, and overall asset value maximization. This position is the owners representative who establishes goals and strategies to maximize value and drives projects to meet aggressive deadlines. Must have a proven track record of success and be a “decathlete” that can take any project, regardless of scope and execute the project to fruition. |

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create project plans, define project phases and project critical path, and execute on project action items as directed.
- Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Create, maintain, and control project budgets.
- Oversee field supervisors; establish aggressive production goals, monitor progress, & ensure all goals are achieved.
- Conduct routine field visits to all assets to perform field evaluations; identify opportunities to maximize asset value and decrease costs; and execute on field enhancement projects.
- Assist with the process of obtaining new leases, lease renewals, lease amendments, lease ratifications, surface owner agreements, easements, rights of way and/or similar agreements.
- Complete economic justifications for capitalized and expensed projects, including well work-overs, re-completions, well gathering systems, and infrastructure enhancement.
- Provide weekly management reports on all field operations.
- Work with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and resolve any open regulatory issues.
- Enforce a “culture of compliance” with all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Implement standard operating procedures as necessary to achieve business goals.
- Prepare, review and summarize investor and partner presentations, reports and documents.
- Support asset financing and due diligence activities.
- Contract and vendor management.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of well log files and lease files.
- Interface and assist in permitting compliance.
- Coordinate production reporting and state filings.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of complex Project Management experience preferably in the natural resources industry
- Bachelors Degree.
- Possess “decathlete” capabilities (multiple talents).
- High energy level with a positive attitude.
- Proven record of performance, reliability, confidentiality, and ethical business standards.
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail is required; meticulous work habits.
- Must have proven, dynamic leadership capabilities; possess the ability to influence for results and motivate others
- Excellent MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key business partners as well as all levels of the organization and assets.
- Excellent communication skills – speak clearly, concisely, and professionally in all situations, have excellent group presentation skills and have the ability to write executive-ready reports.
- Strong quantitative analytical or financial analysis skills required.
- Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing priorities and demands and is able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
- Ability to understand complex procedures, analyze complex situations and identify solutions.
- 50%+ travel required.
