AREVA Solar is seeking a Power Plant Estimator - Balance of Plant, for our Mountain View, CA location. This qualified individual will support the Proposal group.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop composite estimates for power plant equipment including steam turbine power islands (includes cooling towers,, circulation water, condensers, switch yard via subcontract request for quotation), balance of plant piping, process piping, valves, and instrumentation
- Manage drawing development by graphic designer for power plant arrangements including general arrangements, piping and instrument diagrams, process flow diagrams, facility layouts, and piping systems.
- Work with Proposal Engineer and Thermal Engineer develop project cost basis and respond to client data requests
- Develop estimating processes to facilitate automated bill of materials based upon standard equipment design, layouts and AREVA engineering standards or good industry practice.
- Work closely with AREVA Solar engineering team to apply standards and other technical design basis to specific project applications
- Facilitate information for client constructability reviews including piping weld counts, subassembly quantities, and design for construction activities
TYPICAL PROJECTS MAY INCLUDE:
- Various product applications including stand alone power plant design, existing plant enhancements (boosters), and process applications.
TRAVEL:
Moderate: Routine with some international travel required. Valid Passport Required.

Qualifications
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

5+ years of Power Equipment estimating experience with exposure to steam turbines, condensers, and cooling water systems

Exposure to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, B31.1 Power Piping

Secondary degree in Mechanical Technology or AST degree or equal in Mechanical Computer-Aided Drafting & Design Technology (or equivalent experience)
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
- Strong EXCEL skills
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- 3-D modeling experience
- Purchasing or Buyer experience with Major Power Plant Equipment
