Database Administrator - Oracle & SQL Server
| Seeking individual to work as part of a team to provide full life cycle support for Oracle and SQL Server database environments and support of application development teams. The position will participate in database planning and developing and adherence to database standards. | |
| Duties/Responsibilities: • Install, configure and support Oracle in Unix environment • Install, configure and support SQL Server • Participate in the logical design and non-functional requirements gathering with application developers • Provide application database support to application development, including consultation, installation, monitoring and tuning • Perform database tuning and performance monitoring • Plan, implement and support backup and recovery for application databases • Plan database growth and changes (capacity planning) • Interface with database and application vendors for database technical support • Evaluate, recommend and develop standards on database features and other related database products • Work as part of a team and provide 7x24 support when required • Lead internal database services projects |

| Qualifications: Position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1-4 years like-work experience. Four years of like-work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree, or combination of education and like-work experience totaling 5 - 8+ years. • Experience with Unix systems (Linux and HPUX) • SQL Server 2005, 2008 in standalone and windows clustered environment • Oracle9, Oracle10g and Oracle11g • Strong experience administrating Oracle and SQL Server environments, including managing DB maintenance, deployments, user administration, versioning • Experience with all backup and recovery scenarios • EXCELLENT communication skills, both verbal and written • Ability to work well with others • Ability to work under high stress situations • Able to think and operate independently, and in teams * Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. * Seven to nine years like work experience. * Experience with RMAN and Quest tools preferred |
